The Original
A Wild Hearts original is the work itself.
Created slowly by hand, each piece is built from thousands of individual marks in charcoal, allowing form, texture and expression to emerge through the process of drawing.
At 160 × 113 cm, the work is conceived to be encountered at scale. The physical presence of the original is an essential part of the experience.
Each work is unique. There is no second original.
A new scale of the practice
Wild Hearts marks a new scale and expression of the practice.
The series brings wildlife and human connection together through large-scale compositions in which individual forms gather, overlap and resolve into something greater than themselves.
Each original is created at 160 × 113 cm, forming part of an evolving body of museum-scale charcoal works.
The Material
Arches Aquarelle French cotton paper
Each Wild Hearts original is created on Arches Aquarelle French cotton paper, selected for its weight, surface and ability to hold the density and subtlety of charcoal.
The natural deckled edge is retained as part of the work, preserving the physical character of the sheet and the handmade nature of its creation.
The paper is not simply a surface for the drawing. It is part of the original.
The Hand
Made slowly. Mark by mark.
Every Wild Hearts original is drawn by hand in charcoal.
The work develops gradually through the accumulation, removal and refinement of individual marks. Nothing is printed or mechanically reproduced in the original.
The practice is developed in collaboration with Georgia Harris, with each finished work carrying the contribution and signatures of both artists.
Provenance
Documented from the studio
Every Wild Hearts original is signed by Rob Harris and Georgia Harris and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity documenting the work, its materials, dimensions and provenance.
The certificate is produced on the same Arches Aquarelle French cotton paper used for the artwork and forms a physical record of the work’s history.
Each original is individually documented as part of the Wild Hearts collection.
The Mark
A mark of the Wild Hearts practice.
Each Wild Hearts original carries the studio’s embossed mark, pressed directly into the paper as a subtle sign of authorship and provenance.
The mark is created by hand using the Wild Hearts emboss, forming a permanent impression within the surface of the paper.
It is intentionally restrained. A quiet physical detail that identifies the work as part of the Wild Hearts practice.
The Collector Experience
The details matter.
The care given to an original continues beyond the drawing itself.
Each work is prepared for its new collection with archival protective materials and presented with its Certificate of Authenticity, collector materials and provenance documentation.
The experience is designed to preserve the character of the work from the studio through to its place in your collection.
Delivery & Care
From the studio to your collection.
Every original is carefully prepared and packaged using archival protective materials before leaving the studio.
Domestic and international deliveries are tracked and insured, with specialist courier services used for original works.
Large works are transported with the paper carefully protected to minimise handling and help ensure the work arrives in the same condition in which it leaves the studio.
Each collector also receives a framing guide with recommendations for archival framing, UV-protective glazing and appropriate hanging conditions.
Framing
Designed to be lived with.
The presentation of a Wild Hearts original is considered as part of the work itself.
The natural deckled edge of the paper is retained, allowing the physical character of the sheet to remain visible. A floating mount is recommended, paired with a restrained white frame and UV-protective glazing.
